Toronto Hot Docs Film Festival: Stepya
Stepya: The Icelandic word for concrete as well as a colloquial Icelandic term for “something weird.” This documentary film by Markus Andresson (who was at the screening and is funny/hot/charming, for those who care) focuses on the Icelandic contemporary arts scene and seven Icelandic artists.
Ásmundur Ásmundsson the tortured artist, who creates art with oatmeal in his underpants over breakfast at home, was a favourite.
